During the month of October and November, the Library will hosting a series of 6 creative workshops with the organization PeaceLove. The goal of these expressive art workshops is to create peace of mind, foster mental health wellness, and promote resilience. Registration starts Tuesday September 21st; for adults and teens, limit 7 per class. Participants may register for one or all classes. Each workshop will be held on Saturdays from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm. The following classes include:
Week 1: “Creative Calisthenics”: Getting out of comfort zones through an exciting and unexpected exercise with paint. Saturday October 2nd 11:15 am-12:30 pm.
Week 2: “Mandala Poetry”: Learning to be present in the moment while being more conscious of inner thoughts and feelings. Saturday October 9th 11:15 am-12:30 pm.
Week 3: “Dual Emotions”: Exploring the relationship between different emotions experienced at once.
Week 4: “Rhythm and Color”: Collaborating through an experience of musical creativity, artistic inspiration, and dynamic energy. Saturday October 23 11:15 am-12:30 pm.
Week 5: “Transformation Collages”: Inspiring transformation of unhealthy thought patterns into a positive alternative path. Saturday October 30th 11:15 am-12:30 pm.
Week 6: “Story Shoes”: Expressing each person’s unique story and life journey using three dimensional collage and stories (Participants are encouraged to bring a shoe to this workshop). Saturday November 6 11;15 am-12:30 pm.
